How can you use the QiTech Winder make filament?

Calibrate Filament Ferrari on your spool

Calibrating the Filament Ferrari is simple. First, the supplied laser holder must be placed on the Filament Ferrari, then the laser is simply snapped into its housing and switches on. Now the homing option can be selected from the LCD menu, whereupon the Filament Ferrari starts to move and *magically* stops at the end of the axis (known as "Sensorless Homing"). Now the two edge points of the spool can be adjusted using the knob next to the LCD screen. The Filament Ferrari is moved until the laser points to the inside of the left edge of the spool; to confirm the position, the control button is pressed once. The Filament Ferrari is then moved further to the inside of the right-hand edge of the spool; again, the position must be confirmed by pressing the control button.

Set the puller speed

Now the Filament Ferrari is spool to the spool , and we can select "Start Winding" from the LCD menu. The puller is activated, and the speed can be adjusted using the rotary knob. Tip: If you’re winding filament from one spool another, for example, you can set the puller speed as desired. Winder , if you’re using the Winder in an extrusion line, the puller speed should be adjusted to match the extrusion speed.

Winder the filament into the Winder

Push the Filament between the two silicon rolls, then grab the Filament and thread it through the Filament Ferrari. Now guide the filament beneath the spool and push it through the hole on the side of the spool. Hold the filament with your other hand to fixate it for the first few rotations until it has enough grip to hold itself.
