Background to the campaign: MARAWE's 3D printing farm
We know MARAWE through Dr. Stefan Weiß and joint research projects. MARAWE also operates a 3D printing farm that specializes in the production of large components. Here, 3-kilo spools with high-quality filaments are used. There are always spools with small residues left over during operation. These leftovers are no longer usable for MARAWE's large-format prints, but they are perfectly usable filament in beautiful colors. Hobby users can still print small components or figures with it without any problems - e.g. our Masterspool :)
Who is MARAVE?
MARAWE is known in the 3D printing scene with the Tifoo brand for "gold-plating 3D prints".
With Tifoo's electroplating products, 3D printed components can be coated with almost any (precious) metal.
The cooperation: A second life for discarded filament remnants
MARAWE is committed to resource efficiency and has provided us with their two pallets of old spools and the remaining remnants. We carefully wound these onto refills (filament bales without spool). The refills can then be used to refill reusable filament spools (such as the QiTech Masterspool) can then be refilled.
Each of our mini refills (300 grams) is dried before shipping and then vacuum-packed with silica gel to preserve the optimum material quality.
At QiTech , we only produce filament refills and our own reusable spools made from recycled bottle caps. In this way, we counter the current standard of disposable spools with a sustainable alternative. we are now giving away these carefully prepared refills as bonus material with every order until July 15 - while stocks last.
Why we launched this campaign
The collaboration with MARAWE shows that successful cooperation between start-ups and SMEs is possible. We would like to thank Dr. Stefan Weiß and the MARAWE team for their trust and excellent cooperation. With this project, we can jointly set an example of how material waste can be avoided in industry.
