Over the last few months, we have been working on a further development of our QiTech Winder for a special order from Schwerin. The aim was to be able to wrap a thin medical tube in specific quantities from one spool to the next.

As our customer's medical tubing was very fine and somewhat sticky, it was essential to ensure a constant & low tension. We therefore made a few changes to the Winder :
1. correct voltage
The rewinder is divided into an actively braked side, which ensures minimum tension during winding, and a driven side, which can now also stably support large coils with a lot of weight.
2. laser calibration & traverse
As with our "normal" Winder , the coil size can be easily calibrated using the integrated laser. The values are stored in our QiTech Control software and can be called up at any time. The new traverse moves the filament smoothly in sync with the spool during winding and can be easily adjusted to different material thicknesses in the software.
3. other improvements
In addition to the higher speed of up to 200 rpm, we have also installed hardware buttons. This means that everything can be set once at the beginning with our software and then the 3 buttons for starting, stopping and calibrating are sufficient.
We have also installed a main switch and emergency stop button so that our Winder can be used more easily during operation.
