In the PLC world, details are often trade secrets. Here at QiTech have chosen the opposite approach: In a 55-minute video, we explain step by step how we developed our own control system based on Rust and EtherCAT.
We don’t build rigid solutions; instead, we rely on open source. In theory, any customer can view and customize the code—a level of transparency that is rare in traditional industrial technology. Thanks to the modular design and the use of Rust, modern technologies such as AI integration can also be easily implemented. This would be virtually impossible with traditional PLC languages.
